Generations of Women Collages

I want to share these images I put on Facebook recently. I got the idea from another Facebook user I really admire, who is excellent at colourizing old photographs. I stalked her Facebook profile and saw that she’d done a collage of herself and the women who came before her. I thought it was an awesome idea so I wanted to try it out for myself.

The first set of images below, is a collage of my maternal mother’s line, literally the mitochondrial line as far back as I have (young – age) photos for.

collage 4 generations women- mother's mother line mitochondrial
My Great Grandmother Gertrude, My Grandmother Valarie, My Mother, and I.

As you can see, I don’t take after these women in looks much, well, not in hair colour, perhaps in temperament!

The next collage is of my father’s mother’s line, I don’t know what you’d call it, and I was disappointed I couldn’t find a clearer older-age photo of my great-grandmother, she’s just a 14 year old in this photo. I also included my youngest daughter age 17 at the end.

My Paternal Great Great Grandmother, my Paternal Great Grandmother (Old Nanna), my Paternal Grandmother (Nanna), me and my youngest daughter.

Ok obviously I look more like these ones above? These are all my father’s line of mother’s mothers.

The program I used was BeFunky online, so easy. I would love to see more of this. Send me your links if you have done this kind of collage.

Cheers!
